Current Season 2023

Visiting Mr. Green
Written by Jeff Baron
Directed by
Drew Henderson & Glen Teager
February 24, 25, 26 & March 3, 4, 5

Mr. Green, an elderly, retired dry cleaner, wanders into New York traffic and is almost hit by a car driven by Ross Gardiner, a 29-year-old corporate executive. The young man is given a community service of helping the recent widower once a week for six months. What starts as a comedy about two men who do not want to be in the same room together becomes a gripping and moving drama as they get to know each other, come to care about each other, and open old wounds they’ve been hiding and nursing for years.

“Very simply, a great, beautiful, essential moment of theatre. It grabs us at the beginning and doesn’t let us go until the end.”
—France Soir

Marvin’s Room
Written by Scott McPherson
Directed by Jessica Taulbee
July 14, 15, 16 & 21, 22, 23

Lee is a single mother who's been busy raising her troubled teenage son, Hank. Her estranged sister Bessie has her hands full with their elder-ly father, his soap opera-obsessed sister—and a brand-new life-or-death diagnosis. Now the women are about to reunite for the first time in 18 years. Can these almost-strangers become a family in time to make plans and make amends?  Exploring an unsentimental reality with hope, compassion and a dose of wonder-fully absurd humor, Marvin’s Room is a life-af-firming reminder of the gift we give ourselves when we love unconditionally.

"...a deft balance of dry comedy, wisdom and pathos, and a sincere appreciation of the challenging role of the caregiver."

Inlaws, Outlaws, and Other People (That Should Be Shot)
Written by Steve Franco
Directed by
Sara Lindsey & Diana Reeder
November 3, 4, 5 & 10, 11, 12

It is 6 p.m. and the Douglas family is busily preparing to be invaded by their quirky relatives for their annual Christmas Eve dinner. After robbing a neighborhood liquor store, high strung and irritable Tony and his dim-witted side-kick Vinny need a hide-out. Using a ruse to gain entrance into the Douglas home, they suddenly find themselves saddled with smart-aleck teenagers, nosy neighbors and bickering adults. We soon wonder who the hostages really are here! A comic treasure that is sure to leave you in stitches while celebrat-ing the warmth of the Christmas season.

“A comic gem. The holidays have never been so funny!”
