Morehead's community theater was established in October of 1989, with the first season scheduled for 1990. Three plays were performed that year, Mary Chase's comedy classic "Harvey", Ayn Rand's courtroom drama "The Night of January 16th", and Charles Dickens' holiday favorite "A Christmas Carol". During the next 30 years, through community and regional enthusiasm, the Morehead Theatre Guild produced 100 shows and celebrated its 30th anniversary during the 2019 season. Musicals, comedies, drama; on-stage and back-stage; literally hundreds of people of all ages have come together to put on shows for your entertainment.
